​We were freezing cold in our choir shirts in the cold evening air, but that was as nothing compared to the suffering of the children in Ukraine, and we sang for them.​
We performed 'Prayer of the Children' by Kurt Bestor, and he had kind words to say about our rendition:

'I am very heartened and humbled that you and the Musical Originals sang my song “Prayer of the Children.” It’s sad that the song, written more than 25 years ago (for the war in Yugoslavia”) is still germane today. The words, when I sang it at a function last night, were haunting.'

Beating off stiff competition from 13 other excellent young singers, Yanis performed ‘Linden Lea’ by Vaughan Williams and ‘A Brown Bird Singing’ by Haydn Wood. Two of our favourite songs earned Yanis this accolade - well done to him!
