Our short concert Saturday 20th March will now be in aid of Jersey’s Ukraine Appeal and our choir will sing ‘Prayer of the Children’ partly in Ukrainian.

Our choir were recently asked by the Baliff to perform at the Vigil for Ukraine in Jersey's Royal Square.
We were freezing cold in our choir shirts in the cold evening air, but that was as nothing compared to the suffering of the children in Ukraine, and we sang for them.
We performed 'Prayer of the Children' by Kurt Bestor, and he had kind words to say about our rendition:
'I am very heartened and humbled that you and the Musical Originals sang my song “Prayer of the Children.” It’s sad that the song, written more than 25 years ago (for the war in Yugoslavia”) is still germane today. The words, when I sang it at a function last night, were haunting.' Come along to the Town Church for a short early evening concert given by our award-winning Choir. Performances will feature works ranging from Mozart to Arvo Part, with classical solos and duets from our successful Grade 8 students. Sean Frost, organist at St. Clement Danes Church, Fleet Street, will perform preludes by Buxtehude & Karg-Elert.
Refreshments provided. Free admission with a retiring collection. The Musical Originals Singers are performing again for Liberation Day! This year we are excited to be singing a traditional Jersey folk song: ‘Belle Rose’ arranged for us by Charles Mauleverer.
We had fun recording it earlier this week in a windy Liberation Square. Tune in to the Government of Jersey Facebook page at 10:25 on Sunday to watch us!
We are all missing this so much! The Musical Originals Singers at the Town Hall, St Helier just before the world changed.
‘Herring Run’ by Boston based composer, Carla Kihlstedt.
We are very proud of our Yanis Irtizaali today. Yanis has been studying with Imogen at Musical Originals for several years and has won the Vocal Section of the PWC Junior Young Musician of the Year! Beating off stiff competition from 13 other excellent young singers, Yanis performed ‘Linden Lea’ by Vaughan Williams and ‘A Brown Bird Singing’ by Haydn Wood. Two of our favourite songs earned Yanis this accolade - well done to him! Some of our wonderful girls will be singing here tomorrow. Don’t miss them at 4pm! Thank you to John Bowley and Carole Edelenbos for organising our singers.
Wonderful playing from Grace - a long standing, and much-missed member of the Musical Originals Singers.
This is our wonderful ex-Musical Original Georgia Mae Bishop singing Verdi.
Such a tragedy that in these awful times, we can’t hear wonderful singing like this where in ought to be heard: in the Opera Houses of the world. Make sure Georgia is heard by as many people as possible. We are so proud of you Georgia Mae!
